Named for an ancient Celtic harvest festival in honor of the Irish god Lugh, patron of the arts, Lúnasa is indeed a gathering of some of the top musical talents in Ireland. Its members have helped form the backbone of some of the greatest Irish groups of the decade and Folk Roots magazine has rightly termed them an “Irish music dream team.” Driving rhythms on bass and guitar together with champion fiddle and exquisite flutes and pipes are a stellar sound, and the energy of this group has made them a contemporary favorite for pop collaboaration. In addition to five album successes -including their acclaimed recording Lá Nua, the first release on the band’s own label--the group also performed seven tracks on Natalie Merchant’s April 2010 release, Leave Your Sleep.

With a motley group of charactersbrought to life by the world-renowned puppeteers of THE JIM HENSON COMPANY, this is not your average night at the improv and it is definitely not for children. Unpredictable, irreverent and rebellious, it’s never the same show twice as the puppeteers set off on a trail of twisted sketches and songs at breakneck pace while interaction with the audience prompts the spontaneous storylines unfolding on stage. Two shows in one, audience members can choose to watch “the puppet show” on the big screen or witness the actionand hilarious interaction of the puppeteers on the stage!
